Crème Brûlée

A creamy luscious custard dessert that the French enjoy. With this recipe, there will always be Crème Brûlée in the comfort of your home to enjoy! It’s easy to make and tastes just as nice as the ones in a cafe.

Ingredients

Makes 4-6 medium ramekins

6 egg yolks
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp dark rum (optional)

Topping
1/4 cup castor or granulated sugar

Method

  1. Whisk all the ingredients in a mixing bowl until well combined.
  2. Strain custard mixture into medium ramekins till 3/4 full.
  3. Place a steaming rack in Tefal multicooker pot, put the ramekins on top of the steaming rack. Pour some water till it reaches to the line of custard mixture.
  4. Set cooker to “Sous Vide” mode at 80°C for 1 hour. Close the lid and press start to cook.
  5. When it’s done, let it cool down.
  6. Sprinkle some castor sugar on the cream custard, use a blowtorch to melt the sugar till caramelized.
  7. Serve immediately or you can keep it in the fridge up to 3 days (Torch just before serving).
