Ingredients

PORTION A –

20gm Rice Flour
200ml Water
2tbsp Oil

PORTION B –

250gm Glutinous Rice Flour
Cooked Rice flour mixture
250ml water
1tbsp Oil

Filling:
200gm Gula Melaka
1/2cup Water
300gm White Grated Coconut
2tbsp cooked Sesame Seeds
50 – 60gm Chopped Peanuts
30gm grated Old Ginger
Pandan leaves.

Method

 

Dough Portion A –

Mix rice flour and water together, add in oil.
Cook under medium fire until mixture thickened.

Dough Portion B –

Mix the ingredients with portion A cooked mixture.
Slowly add in water to form smooth dough.
Cover set aside.

Filling method –
Bring gula melaka with water and pandan leaves to boil until melt and turned syrup.
Add in white grated coconut, mix well to combine then add in peanuts, sesame seeds and grated ginger. Cook until slightly dried up. Dish into a plate.

Wrapping:
Divide each dough about 40gm, oil both hands. Flatten the dough, add in 1tbsp of the coconut filling and roll into a round shaped then flattened slightly. Wrap with banana leaves.
Steam the prepared yi bua over medium fire for 12 minutes.
Remove from fire and brush with peanut oil on the surface.
Serve once is cool.
